People & Places:
Connections Between the Inner and Outer Landscape
John R. Myer and Margaret H. Myer, an architect/city planner and a psychiatric social worker, examine the fascinating interactions of human cultures and the built environment, as they have observed them all over the world.
I worked carefully with the authors to ensure that pictures and text references would always fall on the same spread, throughout the book. The 154 color and black-and-white illustrations came from a wide variety of sources, including some of my own photographs from Greece, Maine, Montana, New Hampshire, and Switzerland.
Hans E. Meier’s Syntax types — one of the great humanist sans serif designs — were chosen for their ideal balance of clarity and readability. Farrell Grehan’s jacket photograph depicts people in both human and sculptural forms on the Charles Bridge in Prague.
