Movement: Contemporary Works by
Korean American and Korean-Born Artists
This major exhibition at Smith College Museum of Art in Massachusetts featured a core installation by Yong Soon Min, mounted on one of the museum’s large walls (detail shown on the front cover), and accompanied by work from many other Korean American and Korean-born artists.
Yong Soon Min used clear vinyl LPs and CDs as the basis for her artwork, so that theme was continued in the design of the catalogue. I contacted an old friend in the music business in California and was able to commission a record-industry printer to make a 10-inch LP jacket to serve as the catalogue’s slipcase.
The LP and CD photographs for the slipcase/record jacket were created in my studio (back, spine and front shown below); photography for the interior of the twenty-eight-page catalog was supplied by Stephen Petegorsky.
