W. A. Dwiggins: A Life in Design
W. A. Dwiggins: A Life in Design is a comprehensive biography of one of the twentieth century’s quintessential makers. A skilled book designer, type designer, and illustrator, Dwiggins was also an essayist and satirist, and is widely known in the world of puppetry — he built two marionette theaters in his Massachusetts home.
I wrote and designed this biography over a period of fifteen years.
The book is 496 pages, 9 x 11 inches, with more than 1200 illustrations printed in full color. Both the standard edition (hardcover, with sewn construction) and the deluxe edition (special cover with leather spine, housed in a slipcase with companion letterpress portfolio) are available.
